Tottenham interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen set-piece specialist Hakan Calhanoglu

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing set-piece specialist Hakan Calhanoglu from Bayer Leverkusen, but the attacking midfielder is keen to stay with the Bundesliga club.
The Turkish international has scored 21 goals in his two seasons at the BayArena, following a move from Hamburg in 2014, and has a reputation for the spectacular given his ability at set-pieces.
His agent, Bektas Demirtas, has revealed Tottenham's interest but insisted Calhanoglu is keen to stay with Bayer following a positive meeting with manager Roger Schmidt.

Schalke have made an offer to take Nabil Bentaleb on loan with view to a permanent £17million transfer.
The 21-year-old midfielder is eager to move to the Bundesliga but Tottenham have been reluctant to accept anything other than a permanent deal.
Schalke are one of the wealthiest clubs in the world but have proposed guarantees for the fee based on Bentaleb playing a set amount of games.

West Brom face missing out on £20m pay-day as Saido Berahino eyes lucrative free transfer next summer

Saido Berahino has set his sights on a money-spinning free transfer next summer leaving West Bromwich facing up to the prospect of missing of on £20million windfall.
The striker has told pals he is now determined to see out the final months of his contract and pursue a move abroad in January as the club continue to refuse to sanction his exit.
Berahino has made clear his intention to leave the Hawthorns this summer with Stoke and Crystal Palace making firm offers – understood to be in the region of £20million – for the striker.

But despite actively welcoming bids, West Brom are yet to accept any offers - leaving Berahino in limbo.

Berahino has become so exasperated by the club's refusal to let him leave that he has told friends that he'll refuse to leave even if the Baggies finally accept an offer for him.

Self-sponsored athlete, Chierika, wins First Medal for Nigeria in Rio Olympics




No one has represented Nigeria in Rowing at the Olympics until this cute lady, Chierika Ukogu, who sponsored herself, took up the challenge. She just won Nigeria's first medal at Rio. Big congrats!

Fastest man Usain Bolt wins Gold in 200m Olympic Final

Talk about consistency. Usain Bolt won his eighth gold medal as he stormed to victory in the 200m in the Rio Olympics. Bolt adds the title to the 100m medal he won earlier in the Games and keeps alive his hopes of securing an historic 'triple triple'.


The Jamaican will complete the victory if he can win gold with his country's 4x100m relay team.

Bolt stormed to victory in 19.78 seconds. Congrats to him!

A couple of days ago, English football club, Tottenham Hotspurs announced that its midfielder, Dele Alli has decided to change the name on the rear of his jersey to Dele, instead of his surname, Alli which he has been using.

Former FIFA President and IOC Member Joao Havelange Dies at 100

Joao Havelange, the former President of world football governing body FIFA, has died in hospital in Rio de Janeiro.
The hospital spokeswoman said on Tuesday in Rio de Janeiro, that the 100 year old Havelange, had been admitted last month to the Samaritano hospital in the Botofoga district of the city for treatment for pneumonia.
