How Agriculture Can Save Nigeria From Hardship

Sometimes juanitagossip.blogspot.com get worried when I see the Presidency focusing on ICT/Tech as if we are going to compete with America, China or India. Get it straight, those countries got agriculture right and they were able to feed themselves before Tech became the next big thing for them.

Even if all our youths develop Apps and Programs, without affordable food nothing changes. I think the focus should be Agriculture and Agriculture, for government. Tech is global and we will find our way. After all, Mark Zuckerberg was brought to Nigeria by Tech guys, not government.

The acting Executive Director, Agricultural and Rural Training and Management Institute, Anthony Njoku, has expressed support for agricultural solutions to enable the nation recover from the ongoing economic recession.

First rule of leadership: everything is your fault. Sir, Nigerians are surely dying and, quickly. They can no longer see the light, they feel the Heat.

Emir Sanusi To Buhari: Here's What To Do To Grow Economy

Against the backdrop of his comments on the Muhammadu Buhari administration last week, Emir of Kano and former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido has reacted again.

He said that until the Buhari administration eliminates subsidies, fixes the power sector and digitizes state land registries, the economy will remain in the doldrums.

In a document made available to an online media which he presented at the meetings of the Joint Planning Board (JPB) and National Council on Development Planning (NCDP), Sanusi highlighted the abuse of subsidies in Nigeria and the need to totally put an end to subsidy regimes.

He applauded Buhari for steps taken so far on subsidy, which has become visible in the consumption pattern in Nigeria today, many people now spend wisely.

OH DEAR! Ex-Female Banker Battling Kidney Failure Cries

*Needs N9m for transplant, lost job to health challenges
The fear of being snatched away from her beloved husband at any moment by the claws of death is an unpleasant and constant thought that is troubling 40-year-old Mercy Damisa, an ex-banker, as she bears the excruciating pains associated with kidney failure.

Bonded by fate at their home in Bukuru area of Jos city, Plateau State, Mercy and her husband, Paul Babayo Damisa, met at the University of Maiduguri, where they studied the same course, graduated same year, and were both orphaned early in life.

Their blissful relationship blossomed into marriage, which took place in April 2010, at a parish of the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), in Maiduguri, Borno State. But that seemed to be the end of happiness and joy for the once ebullient, tall and dark complexioned Kogi State-born woman.

In the course of her national service year (NYSC) in 2007, a medical doctor’s diagnosis at the University of Ife Teaching Hospital confirmed that she had hypertension, a medical condition that claimed the lives of her mother and father. The hypertension diagnosis was followed by a series of miscarriages. Then her kidneys failed, and put her life on a delicate balance.
